The 1929 stock market crash began with the
Black Thursday. On Black Monday, the start of the famous 1929
stock market crash, selling orders poured into the market so
fast and from so many places that there was no way the stock
market crash could be avoided.
In fact the signs leading to the 1929 stock
market crash were all indicating that a stock market crash was

On Wednesday October 23, 1929, the stock
market opened calmly with some stocks rising at the beginning
of the day. However, by the end of the day, heavy sell offs
sent the stock market downwards. But the stock market crash was
not there yet. That day, the Dow Jones dropped 20.66
points.
On Thursday October 24, 1929 or the Black
Thursday, the stock market did not open so calmly like it did
the previous day. 1.6 million shares changed hands in the first
half hour on Wall Street stock market alone. The stock market
kept spiralling downward. The stock market crash was at
hand.
